Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur

Domaine de Canton is a French ginger liqueur. It is made from crystallized Chinese baby ginger, Grand Champagne VSOP cognac, neutral spirit, orange blossom honey from Provence, and vanilla. Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur was inspired by the French tradition in which sweet and fresh elixirs were fortified by fine eaux de vie and cognac. Spicy and aromatic elixirs became popular with the French during the time of colonial Indochine. Domaine de Canton is inspired by the subtle spiciness of the baby ginger grown locally in modern day Indochine. The result is a recipe which evokes an era of tropical romance and continental sophistication that is both elegant and timeless.

Recipes

The Bowery

  • 3 parts Domaine de Canton Ginger liqueur
  • 1 part fresh lemon juice
  • 2 dashes of bitters
  • shake, serve on the rocks
  • garnish with lemon twist

Gold Rush

  • 1 parts Domaine de Canton Ginger liqueur
  • 1 part Bourbon
  • 1 part fresh lemon juice
  • shake, serve in a Martini glass
  • garnish with cherry

Ginger Margarita

  • 2 parts Domaine de Canton Ginger liqueur
  • 2 parts Silver Tequila
  • 1 part Cointreau (or Triple Sec)
  • 1 part fresh lime juice
  • shake, serve on the rocks
  • garnish with a lime wedge

Ginger Julep

  • 2 sprigs of mint
  • 2 parts Bourbon
  • 1 part Domaine de Canton Ginger liqueur
  • 1/2 part lemon juice
  • 1/2 part simple syrup
  • place mint in the bottom of a cocktail shaker, fill with crushed ice, and muddle with a wooden spoon for about 10 seconds to bruise mint
  • add remaining ingredients to the shaker, cover, and shake
  • strain into a julep glass filled with crushed ice
  • garnish with lemon wedge or mint

Manhattan East

  • 2 parts Domaine De Canton Ginger liqueur
  • 1  part Bourbon
  • 1 part dry sake
  • 2 dashes of Peychaud’s Bitters
  • serve on a chilled martini glass and garnish with an orange peel

Dark & Stormier

  • 1 part Domaine de Canton Ginger liqueur
  • 1 part Dark Aged Rum
  • splash of fresh lime juice
  • fill a high-ball glass with ice fill 2/3 of the way with ginger beer
  • add the Dark Aged Rum and Lime Juice
  • garnish with a lime

Opening Act

  • 4 parts Domaine de Canton Ginger liqueur
  • 1 part Campari
  • 1 part fresh lime juice
  • shake, serve in a high-ball
  • garnish with mint leaves

White Orchid

  • 2 parts Domaine de Canton Ginger liqueur
  • 1 part citrus Vodka
  • 1 part White Cranberry Juice
  • shake, serve in a chilled Martini glass

Tuscan Pear

  • 1 part pear Vodka
  • 1 part Limoncello
  • 1 part Domaine de Canton Ginger liqueur
  • 1 part blood orange juice (or orange juice)
  • splash part simple syrup
  • add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously
  • strain into a rocks glass rimmed with sugar and filled with crushed ice
  • garnish (optional) with mint leaves or dried pear

Fizzy Lifting Drink

  • 1 part crème de cassis
  • 1 part Domaine de Canton Ginger liqueur
  • 4 parts dry sparkling wine
  • lemon peel, for garnish
  • pour crème de cassis and ginger liqueur in a chilled champagne flute
  • add sparkling wine and garnish with a lemon peel
